Every other year the New-Hope Solebury Baseball team takes an activity-filled trip to Vero Beach, Florida during the school’s spring break for five days. During this trip the team plays three games in the local area. It is a great way for new players to understand the rigor and athletic ability required to be a helpful player on the team. This trip also contains being able to experience and travel the local area of Vero Beach in Florida. Many players such as Blake and Danny Doherty cannot wait to embark on the trip and create a new experience.
This trip could also be a great experience for Blake and Danny to see if they can show their close brother connection on the field. Blake is the pitcher and Danny is the catcher. It will be interesting to see if they are able to get some game time together. During the trip, the teams that New Hope will face will be from all over the country, and with their buffet-filled breakfasts and fun trips around MLB spring training stadiums, the team is sure to have fun. “I have been very excited for this trip for the past two years, ever since Danny and the team went down to Myrtle Beach two years ago,” stated by Blake Doherty.

The trip could also provide the coaches with an opportunity to come up with a possible roster for the upcoming 2016 season. The 2015 season looked very promising but came to a sad end when they lost to Springfield. Some of the key players they lost last year were Spencer Tinkle, Matt Mazza, and Pat Gimple. Some of the upcoming freshman looking to fill those positions are Blake Doherty, Jack Gawason, Derek Smith, and Gavin Grondahl. The NHS team is looking for a district championship title this year. The competition looks fierce and the weather looks hot. The boys are in for another great trip to Florida.
